Texans Helping Texans

When a neighbor's world turns upside down, we show up.

A Texas foundation reaching across every divide to help anyone in need — first responders, cancer patients, students, animals, and families facing their hardest moment.

Our Mission

We are a 501(c)(3) that provides aid to vulnerable people and communities across Texas — partnering with first responders, walking beside cancer patients and families, opening doors for students, caring for animals in need, and stepping in when a neighbor's world turns upside down. Always reaching across the divide to help anyone in need.

What We Do

Five missions. One thread.

Each stands on its own — and every one traces back to the same promise: help anyone in need.

01Standing with those who serve

First Responders

We've served three decades in public safety. We partner with programs that bring mental-health support and resources to law enforcement, military, and the families behind them.

02A mission we've lived

Cancer & Healthcare

Willie fought Stage IV cancer and knows the road. We aid cancer patients, the elderly, and the immunocompromised who face treatment bills they can't afford — so no Texan carries that weight alone.

03Opening doors

Education

We help quality education reach students who lack the means for primary and secondary learning — access, tools, technology, and scholarships awarded every year that turn potential into opportunity.

04Speaking for the voiceless

Animals & Wildlife

We support animal rescues and shelters focused on stray intake, medical care, and adoption — the ones who can't ask for help deserve a foundation that speaks for them.

05Help people first

Community Assistance

The mission with no fixed shape — disaster relief, emergency help, holiday giving, and whatever a neighbor needs when life takes an unexpected turn. Always reaching across the divide to help anyone in need.

A Mission We've Lived

The fight that became the mission.

For three decades in law enforcement — as a police officer and in security work — I trusted my instincts. In the field, when something felt wrong, I moved; hesitating could cost a life. So when something in my own body felt wrong, and I kept being told it was nothing and sent home, that same instinct said: keep pushing. Eventually a biopsy confirmed what my gut already knew — stage 4 throat cancer.

There's no academy for that fight. Nothing prepares you for the moment you don't know if you'll survive. What carried me were the things I leaned on completely: my faith, my family, and my wife, Ruby — who took over everything I could no longer carry and refused to let me give up. We chose faith over fear — not as a saying, but as the only way through.

I'd spent my life being the strength for someone else. Cancer taught me the harder half of that lesson: sometimes you're the one who needs to be carried. That's why this foundation walks beside anyone facing their hardest moment — cancer patients and their families, first responders, students, animals with no voice, and neighbors whose world has turned upside down — so no Texan carries that weight alone.

In Their Words

The lives behind the mission.

When our grandmother's health collapsed, the Foundation was there before we even knew how to ask. They didn't make us prove we were worthy of help. They just helped.

— A family the Foundation stood beside during a medical crisis

When our shelter ran out of room and resources, they stepped in — food, medical care, and space for animals no one else would take.

— A partner animal rescue in Texas

A classroom of kids in South Texas opened boxes of brand-new technology this year. For some of them, it was the first computer they'd ever touched.

— An educator in a South Texas community

This scholarship is the reason I'll be the first person in my family to walk into a college classroom.

— A Foundation scholarship recipient

Our Founders

Willie & Ruby Ng — partners in service.

For twenty years, Willie and Ruby have served San Antonio, Bexar County, and Texas as small-business owners, philanthropists, and friends. Willie brought three decades of public safety and a survivor's understanding of what it means to fight for your life. Together they built a foundation rooted in one belief: help people first, and ask questions never. It's a conviction Willie traces to his father, who taught him that “generosity wasn't something you practiced after becoming successful — it was part of the process of becoming successful.”
